Prison officer Linda De Sousa Abreu viral video is attempting to salvage her marriage with her husband, who is unaware that she engaged in sexual activity with an inmate.

An employee at HMP Wandsworth prison, caught on camera engaging in sexual activity with a prisoner, has confessed to misconduct in a public office.

While on her shift at HMP Wandsworth prison, Linda De Sousa Abreu, aged 30, entered the inmate’s cell on 27 June and engaged in sexual activity with him. This illicit video was captured on camera by another prisoner and quickly spread across social media platforms.

Following identification by HMP Wandsworth staff, Linda De Sousa Abreu was apprehended by the Metropolitan Police at Heathrow Airport.

De Sousa Abreu, 30, of Fulham, south-west London, pleaded guilty to one count of misconduct in a public office at a hearing at Isleworth Crown Court.

The prosecution’s case was that De Sousa Abreu had wilfully committed misconduct in a public office by abusing her position as prison officer to have sex with an inmate.

De Sousa Abreu was seen at the hearing donning white pants, a brown top, and a matching white jacket, opting to stay quiet as she made her way into Isleworth Crown Courthouse in west London. She confessed to a single count of misconduct in a public office, which could result in a life sentence.

Enthusiastic participant’

She called the prison while heading to the airport for a flight to Madrid, informing them she would not be returning to work and that her husband would return her equipment.

De Sousa Abreu, a holder of a Portuguese passport, was granted conditional bail and is scheduled to make her next appearance at Isleworth Crown Court on November 7th.

Tetteh Turkson, from the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), said: “This was a shocking breach of the public’s trust.

De Sousa displayed a high level of enthusiasm, mistakenly believing she could evade accountability for her actions.

He added that De Sousa had “no option but accept she was guilty” due to the strength of the case against her.
